Carlos Irijalba, one of popular in-house artist of Matadero Madrid was born in Pamplona Spain in 1979 and graduated at the Basque Country University and UDK Berlin with professor Lothar Baumgarten. His work describes the way Western culture innovates an abstract snoring eliminator method that loses all interactions except to itself. The scenes has noted out the open spaces of the visible so it can be simply understood, diverting the interest to a set of false events. Carlos Irijalba works in projects as Überlegung or the latest Twilight and Unwilling spectator in that snore eliminator area between relative experience of time and space and the joint construction of the genuine. The artist Carlos Irijalba has been awarded the Revelation Room Mate Hotels PHotoEspaña 2010 in recognition to his excellent work called Perfomativos Andes. Carlos underwent a series of intricate procedures of photo shooting which produced amazing snore mouth pieces results and great images of his work. The official presentation of the Awards PHotoEspaña was held June 2011 last year, at the Spanish Ships of Matadero Madrid. The grand prize will receive six thousand euros worth of anti-snoring mandibular advancement device art works from different renowned works of Spanish artists. Not only that, the works has been exceled and has won many recognition from other art critics. The artists also who have won this competition in the past are Carlos Sanva, Germain Gomez NOPHOTO, Bleda & Rosa, Joan Morey, Lucía Arjona, Paco Gómez, Carmela García, Isabel Flores, David Jiménez, Susana de Sousa, and Xavier Rivas. The appointed judges for this competition was the president of Room Mate Hotels, Enrique Sarasola, the director of the Department of Art and Design at the Universidad Europea de Madrid, Joaquín Ivars, and the photographer and winner of Revelation Room Mate Hotels in 2009 Carlos Sanva. The first meeting of Curators’ Network will be held at Matadero Madrid, Hall 16 from 16th to 19th of November 2011. These public activities of the network will serve to boost the exchange of knowledge between Spanish and European professionals that work in the field of modern arts. Between Wednesday 16th to Saturday 19th of November, 8 – 10 pm., the Nave 16 in Matadero Madrid will host a showroom with the work of the selected artists, so that local curators and other cultural professionals can meet them personally. At the same time there will take place conferences of the international curators in which they will present their projects and institutions in their respective cities. These sessions are free of charge and are addressed to all professionals who work within the field of the contemporary culture with the intention of providing a rich and sustained exchange of ideas that pave the way for future collaborations.
