It leads us to reflect on the daily happenings in our life, the fact on how we live in a world full of strangeness, full of threats and uncertainties that at times leave us unaware that occasionally somebody trespasses our privacy. We are often unconscious that we are being surveyed by unknown or various agencies, for several reasons we remain innocent. Security is important sometimes could also be associated or source of danger, but most of the time it is essential for the protection of everyone living in the society but what makes it awful is that each individual is being deprived to their own privacy and just got accustomed to it and have learned to take this undesirable circumstances for granted. Mateo Mate’s art installation, whose work shapes resembles like of the continent of Europe. It is an inaccessible area, cautiously is being guarded by the one with uniformed individuals and with surveillance camera in which they ensures that it will not be trespassed. It is always being interrogated by the mass due to the protection of that territory. The community supposed that this may due to security concerns, or can be immigration-related issues. The art of the space he meant at http://www.crystal-singing-bowls.com/ was all about the private space an individual should have; the house, territory, every man’s area of privacy. All these things were hybridized with public space with the different subjective and emotional implication this can have. Mate’s recent work often includes of the issue of space as the territory of identity: the map that pinpoints-indicates locations, the homeland or the war that defends or justifies an invasion, etc. There is an essential difference in his art that should be pointed out.
